These terms cover the Sprout app for iPhone and this website. Sprout is provided by the developer of Sprout. By using Sprout you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

What Sprout is, and what it isn’t

Sprout helps you notice how you feel, take well-known wellbeing questionnaires, and try small everyday practices. It is for general wellbeing and self-reflection.

• It isn’t medical care. Sprout doesn’t diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. A test result is a starting point for reflection, not a diagnosis. For health worries, talk to a doctor or another qualified professional.
• It isn’t an emergency service. If you might hurt yourself or someone else, call your local emergency number now. You can find free, confidential helplines in your country at findahelpline.com.
• Nobody at Sprout reads your answers or watches over you. The app can’t notice if you’re in danger.

Who can use it

Sprout is meant for people aged 18 and over. Some questionnaires ask about hard experiences, such as trauma, drinking or thoughts of self-harm. You can skip any test, and stop at any time.

The subscription

Downloading Sprout, taking tests, daily check-ins, practices and finding support are free. Seeing your test results and how they change over time needs a subscription, Sprout Plus.

• New subscribers get 7 days free, then pay $6.99 a week (or the equal amount in your local currency, as shown in the App Store before you confirm). Apple gives the free week once per Apple ID.
• The subscription is sold and billed by Apple, through your Apple ID. It renews every week unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current week or free trial.
• Cancel any time in the Settings app › your name › Subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the week you’ve paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its own rules: reportaproblem.apple.com.
• If the price ever changes, Apple tells you first, and asks for your agreement where the law requires it.

Your data

Everything you enter stays on your iPhone. How that works, and your choices, are explained in the privacy policy.

The questionnaires

The tests in Sprout are published questionnaires created by researchers. We’ve put them in plain language, and each one names its source in the app. The original questionnaires belong to their authors. Results use each questionnaire’s published scoring, and they only reflect the answers you gave.

Using the app fairly

We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Sprout on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple’s rules. Please don’t copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app, or use it to harm anyone. Apple’s standard licence agreement for apps also applies; if it conflicts with these terms, these terms apply.

Our responsibility

We work hard to keep Sprout accurate, safe and available, but we provide it “as is”. We can’t promise it will always work without errors, or that a result fits your situation. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for decisions you make based on the app, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by law, or our responsibility for harm caused by our gross negligence or on purpose.

Changes

We may update these terms when the app changes. We’ll change the date at the top of this page, and say clearly what changed if it’s important. If you keep using Sprout after that, the new terms apply.
