Privacy policy

The short version: everything you put into Sprout stays on your iPhone. There’s no account, no ads and no tracking. Sprout has no servers of its own, so we can’t see your moods, answers or results, and we don’t sell or share them.

Who we are

Sprout is provided by the developer of Sprout. You can reach us at hello@sproutbuddyapp.com.

What the app keeps, and where

These are saved only on your iPhone, inside the app:

• the first name you choose to enter, and your reminder settings;
• your check-ins: mood, feeling words and notes;
• your test answers and results, and any test you’ve started but not finished;
• practices you’ve done and things you’ve written in them.

They are never sent to us. If you use iCloud Backup, Apple includes them in your encrypted iPhone backup, like other app data. That backup is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.

Apple Health

Syncing with Apple Health is off unless you turn it on in Settings. When it’s on, Sprout saves your check-ins to Health as State of Mind, and reads State of Mind you’ve logged in other apps so your journal shows your whole week. This stays between Sprout and Health on your devices. Health data is never used for advertising and never leaves your devices through Sprout. You can turn it off in the app or in the Health app at any time.

Reminders

Daily check-in and retest reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. No reminder goes through a server.

Subscriptions

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, email address or payment details. Apple tells the app only whether your subscription is active, and gives us anonymous sales totals.

Sharing

Nothing is shared unless you tap Share. Then you see the exact text first and choose where it goes. The link in it only names the test, for example /test/gad7. It never includes your answers or your score.

Crash reports

If you’ve agreed in your iPhone settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. They help us fix problems and don’t include what you’ve entered in the app. You can change this in the Settings app › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers, and loads nothing from other companies. It’s hosted by Cloudflare, which processes visitors’ IP addresses briefly to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Deleting your data

In the app, go to Settings › Delete all my data. This removes everything Sprout has saved, including what it saved to Apple Health. Deleting the app also removes its data from your iPhone. As we don’t hold any of your data, there is nothing left with us to delete.

Children

Sprout is meant for people aged 18 and over, and isn’t directed at children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR give you the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because your data stays on your device, you can see, change and delete it yourself in the app. If you have a question or a concern, email hello@sproutbuddyapp.com and we’ll help.

Changes

If the app starts handling data differently, we’ll update this policy and the date at the top before that change goes live.
